La Dolce Vita

About us

Our philosophy:

Authentic Italian food – traditional quality – freshly served

We use only the freshest and finest quality Italian ingredients and are also proud to support local growers and suppliers that enable us to create unique dishes that give you a true taste of Italy.

Our regular menu features authentic yet thoroughly modern dishes from around Italy to meet the highest demands for classic dishes while our Gourmet Evenings allow you to experience fresh culinary ideas developed by our innovative chef, Gennaro.
Each dish is freshly prepared to order to deliver a traditional quality that characterises our dishes. Our passion for food and drink ensures that we deliver maximum authenticity. It would be an understatement to say that we take great pride in every dish produced.

We are happy to cater for any special dietary requirements – allergies or people affected by celiac disease – just let us know when booking.

Since all our food is freshly cooked to order, please allow our chef time to do so – we are not an Italian fast-food restaurant!

A family-run restaurant offering an authentic taste of Italy with a modern twist since 1999

After living in Italy for fourteen years we decided to bring authentic Italian cuisine to Shropshire and run our own restaurant in Hill’s Lane, Shrewsbury, which we called La Dolce Vita.

It was September 1999 when La Dolce Vita opened its doors to an unsuspecting public who didn’t realise that “authentic Italian food” was something other than just pizzas and spag bol. Each dish is freshly prepared to order, using only the finest authentic ingredients, prepared and freshly cooked with a simplicity that will delight even the most discerning of tastes.

Luigi is front of house and there is always a very warm welcome to all our guests – he greets everyone like a long lost friend.

Your Chefs

Patricia and Gennaro are your chefs. Patricia learnt all her skills alongside Luigi’s family in Italy and, over the years has have really enjoyed the whole experience of introducing a style of dining out in a friendly and relaxed environment which lets you feel as though you are eating Italian food, prepared by an Italian chef, in a restaurant in a neighbourhood in Italy.

During this time, we have built up a loyal band of regular customers but we also love to see new faces and hope they will become regulars too – we hope to see you soon!

Gennaro Adaggio

Gennaro’s, passion for cooking started as a young boy and he went on to study food and catering which led him to win numerous international awards with the Welsh Culinary team.

Gennaro built up his experience by working in a one-Michelin-starred restaurant (Dabbous in London W1) and in two-Michelin-starred restaurants (Hibiscus of Mayfair, and L’enclume in Cartmel),.
